Congratulations to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps on the completion of a data-driven study designed to drive future training requirements.
The Red Air, Training and Proficiency for Air Combat (RATPAC) study was commissioned by Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) N98 and Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps (Aviation) to ensure Department of the Navy (DoN) readiness for air warfare (AW) versus emerging peer adversaries.
The study was led by the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Warfare Effectiveness Department (WED) and supported by a multi-disciplinary team including:
The study culminated an 8-year effort to capture measured aircrew performance data, develop a ground-breaking methodology for evaluating training effectiveness, and provide decision-support analysis to meet the training requirements for 2030 and beyond.
