What’s in a Name?
An aerial battle between fighter aircraft conducted at close range is referred to as a “dogfight”. Tactically, aircraft maneuver in circular motions in the sky, as each works to gain a tactical advantage over the other. The nature of the fight — and the performance required to win it — is categorized as either one circle or two circle, based on the direction each aircraft turns relative to their adversary.
One Circle
One-circle engagements are known as radius fights, and are characterized by low speed and low energy.
Aircraft may gain an advantage enough to prevail in a single engagement, but often end up out of airspeed, out of options, and vulnerable.
Two Circle
Two-circle engagements are known as rate fights, and are characterized by high energy and G forces.
2 Circle was chosen as the company’s name to indicate the Founder’s intent to maintain momentum and tactical advantage in pursuit of our mission, vision, and values in a dynamic business environment.
